Are lab-grown diamonds real diamonds?

Yes. They are diamonds grown in a laboratory and have essentially the same chemical composition, crystal structure and physical and optical properties as natural diamonds. Their origin and growth characteristics are different.

How are lab-grown diamonds made?

Two common methods are high pressure, high temperature (HPHT) and chemical vapour deposition (CVD). Both create the conditions for a diamond crystal to grow. A gemological laboratory can identify the stone's origin.

What should I look for when choosing a diamond?

Consider the cut, colour, clarity and carat weight, along with the setting, metal and how the piece feels to wear. Ask for clear lab-grown disclosure and independent documentation for the specific stone where available.

How do I care for fine jewellery?

Use warm water, mild soap and a soft brush for gentle cleaning, then dry with a soft cloth. Store pieces separately and remove them before swimming or using harsh chemicals. Follow care advice for your specific metal, stones and setting.
